Ace combat 4 takes you to a world of chaos and war, where you fly as a federation ace pilot named Mobious 1 and you must fight against the Eruseans in a time when they were forced to build a cannon named stonehenge to stop falling asteroids but ended up using the cannon a a weapon of mass destruction. In all of it's entirety, its a pretty descent game. It takes you on 18 action packed missions where you fight the eruseans and their ace pilot squadron, the dreaded Yellow squadron. With it's non-animated cutscenes it brings you into the life of a man that was a boy during the time this game said the war was happening, 2005.
In this game, upon completing all the missions with an "S" rank can unlock the XB-O2, which in the game's story line, is an Erusean fighter plane that was still in the making during their war. The XB-O2 also appears in Ace combat: zero and Ace combat: 5.
